Hayden is a german short-hair pointer. He's a very cuddly puppy. He loves to nuzzle up to your face, but he won't ever lick. He's such a well-mannered modern pooch. As you can see in the photos, Hayden is either obsessed with his profile or he is trying to perfect his hunting skills. First the look, the "point" will develop later.

Do you guys pamper/torture your pooch?? It's really a matter of perspective isn't it? :-)

However this is a little unnerving:

Nearly 60 percent admit they are as picky when selecting a dog as they are when searching for a perfect mate -- with personality, physical attributes and pedigree taking top honors as the crucial criteria against which to measure their match.

I'm not judging but...picky, picky!!

It's never been a more perfect time to give a little to help the animals. I've been an ASCPA Guardian for a year and I highly recommend it if you want to give but a monthly payment suits you better than one lump sum.

Whatever you choose to do let's not forget about the little animals that need our help!!

This really is a great book. You can see that it was well thought out in order to be well organized and designed. If you're looking for a reference for yourself or as a holiday gift you won't go wrong on this!!

As Joan Rivers says on the back (Please don't hold it against this book that Joan Rivers comments on the back of it) "My three dogs, Veronica, Lulu, and Max, are all barking, 'Finally! The book we've all been waiting for!' Everything you ever wanted or needed to know about your dog is in here. Hooray!"

P.S. Another way you know it is the resource, the bible, the real deal is that it's big and heavy :-)

For about as long as she can remember, Debby Cantlon says, friends and strangers have brought her animals in need. So it wasn't much of a surprise when someone asked her if she'd care for a newborn squirrel found at the base of a tree somewhere near Renton.

Debby Cantlon, who plans to release Finnegan, the young squirrel, back into the wild, bottle-fed the infant squirrel after it was brought to her house. Cantlon, who has cancer, says rescuing injured animals is therapeutic for her.

When Cantlon took in the tiny creature and began caring for him, she found herself with an unlikely nurse's aide: her pregnant Papillon, Mademoiselle Giselle.

Finnegan was resting in a nest in a cage just days before Giselle was due to deliver her puppies.

Cantlon and her husband watched as the dog dragged the squirrel's cage - twice - to her own bedside before she gave birth.

Cantlon was concerned, yet ultimately decided to allow the squirrel out - and the inter-species bonding began.

Finnegan rides a puppy mosh pit of sorts, burrowing in for warmth after feeding, and eventually working his way beneath his new litter mates.

Two days after giving birth, mama dog Giselle allowed Finnegan to nurse; family photos and a videotape show her encouraging him to suckle alongside her litter of five pups.

Now, Finnegan mostly uses a bottle, but still snuggles with his "siblings" in a mosh pit of puppies, rolling atop their bodies and sinking in deeply for a nap.

Finnegan and his new litter mates, five Papillion puppies, get along together as if they were meant to.
