Eight-year-old Shannon, who lives on an 80-acre farm in Washington, Mo., accepted the 23rd annual National Hero Dog award.

A border collie and golden retriever mix from Missouri has won the National Hero Dog award for alerting her owner that her husband was pinned underneath a tractor...For her heroic act, Shannon was treated to an airplane flight to Los Angeles (she got to sit in the cabin instead of being stowed in cargo) and a stay at a beachside hotel.

"She's loving the attention," Mandry said. "How do you get a dog back in a farm after getting the star treatment in Los Angeles?"

The users must first connect to Internet with their cell phones, and then register information of their dogs such as the breed and age. The service will then record the dog's bark.

The owner will receive text messages telling them how their pet is feeling, such as "I am happy" or "I am frustrated."

How will they translate the bark that says, "I'm confused by this new service!" or "This service is a crock!"

A tiny, ankle-nipping Chihuahua that recently had its name flashed around the globe for halting mail deliveries is in hot water again.

Bobo's previous owner:

"I'm done with Bobo...I've paid over $300 in the past month to bail him out, and I just can't do it anymore," she said. "It's just not worth it. I'm too busy of a person to worry about this little dog."

Isn't she so cute? She's also crazy!!! She's got a cool personality. She's named after the Vampire Slayer which is cool--I guess--but if you're fluffy and apricot colored, the last thing you need is a name like Buffy. Poodle haters will lick their savage chops: Buffy...eh? (Quietly, but the kind of quiet that is very loaded) I see.
